Alyssa Feller Was An R.A. At A Ballet Boarding School

In this “flipped interview,” former guest Alyssa Stratton interviews host Alyssa Feller about her own weird job - working as a resident supervisor (aka a R.A.) at The Harid Conservatory, a boarding school for pre-professional ballet dancers. Alyssa Feller talks about working in the dormitories at this intense ballet boarding high school for students from around the country, and around the world, who came to Florida to study and dance ballet. She also talks about taking kids to the emergency room (they’re all fine!), the double standards that came with that “ballet look” dancers were expected to have, and what made pre-professional ballet dancers different but also the same as typical teenagers. She also talks about how she started her writing career and what motivated her to pick up and move to Los Angeles.
